Recognizing a Mental Health Crisis

A mental health crisis may look different for every individual and is defined by the person experiencing it. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or someone you care about, it is important to know the signs and when to reach out for help.

Common Signs of a Mental Health Crisis:

  • Difficulty completing daily tasks (bathing, brushing teeth, dressing)

  • Sudden or extreme changes in mood

  • Increased agitation, anger, or emotional outbursts

  • Self-harming behavior or threats of harm to others

  • Withdrawal or isolation from others

  • Paranoia or excessive fear without clear cause

  • Hallucinations, confusion, or hearing voices

  • Thoughts of suicide

  • Threats or plans to harm others

If you or a loved one are experiencing any of these signs, immediate help is available.
